Best Of #Scottishwatches Week 11 – AND A GIVE AWAY!!!!!

It’s nearly springtime here, and I can see that for a lot of you that means crawling out of your ice caves or hibernation dens, charging up the old camera batteries, and getting back out there. Every week there are more and more excellent photographs to choose from so keep it up!

Proving that you don’t need a fancy, expensive watch to make a great shot, @flybackwatches and their Hodinkee Flik Flak remind us of the nostalgic power that those early watches hold in our brains. I bought one of these for my little nephew and who knows, maybe one day he will write all about how it changed his life in these very pages…

You cannot go wrong pairing a bit of Jason Heaton’s @swimpruf swag with an iconic diver like this slightly modded Seiko SKX007, as shown in this rather cool shot by @time_n_travel. It’s almost SCUBA season here in the states, and stuff like this gets me even more excited to get back out there.

If you’re starting to notice a theme, I think I am too. Derek is partial to all things nautical and maritime. Pairing the very excellent (and sadly discontinued) Rolex Oyster Perpetual 39 with some heavy rigging rope is all it takes to put my brain at some regatta gala, or on a solo sail around the world. Either way, it’s a winner, @watch_my_time.

There is just something about a good shot combining a great looking watch and some interesting nature. The metallic green of the Kurona mori’ looks right at home with the oranges and yellows of the algae, in this beautiful photo by @dr.skinnywrist

Proving once and for all that Swatch is at least a little water resistant, @thewatchsnapper’s eldest daughter (uncredited) took this cool shot of her new Swatch X MOMA X Gustav Klimt, capturing some great sky, water and reflection elements. Nice work.

Proving that Doxa is another theme I am quite partial to, @timvaux shows up for the second week in a row with this superb shot of the Sub 300 Professional. All the greys and brushed silvers make that orange pop just a little bit extra.

I don’t know what the rules are about including @scottishwatches’ own founder Rikki here on this list, but he earned it fair and square with this awesome, super-colorful shot of the Christopher Ward Super Compressor.

That’s all for this week, keep up the excellent work and keep tagging those photos with #scottishwatches.
