Welcome to the Scottish Watches podcast, episode 293!
As you may know the London Watch Show was on this weekend which gave Rikki and Dave a chance to catch up with some folks and meet a few of you guys, listen to find out if you got a mention on today’s show.
In new releases, we have the watch that took the crown from every other brand the series 7 of the Apple Watch, plus the BR 05 GMT from Bell & Ross, which I really like.
Someone somewhere probably won a dead pool this week, since, unfortunately, we lost some famous names, Norm Macdonald, Sir Clive Sinclair, Jimmy Greaves, and John Challis, watch those Only Fools and Horses skits, you’ll be in fits of laughter!

The Secret Watch … The Cuervo y Sobrinos Watch Robusto Churchill Day Date Limited Edition 2810.1S
Limited Edition of 30 Pieces. Available to Ship Globally.
Launched exclusively with C W Sellors Jura Watches, Cuervo y Sobrinos has announced the arrival of this Robusto Churchill Day Date Limited Edition watch which for the first time features a stunning salmon-coloured guilloche dial. The colour embodies the warmth of vibrance of Havana, the city of which the luxury watch brand was established in almost a century and a half ago. At home within the Cuervo y Sobrinos Churchill collection, the limited edition of only 30 pieces also continues to honour one of history’s most distinguished personalities, Winston Churchill, the famous politician who was famous for his love of cigars, Havana and the Cuervo y Sobrinos boutique in the city.
The Cuervo y Sobrinos Robusto Churchill Day Date Limited Edition maintains elegance, sophistication and timeless design with a 43 millimetre stainless steel and titanium case adorned with contrasting polished and satin-finished surfaces and a choice of two straps, the first a rich brown Louisiana alligator leather strap and the second a stainless steel and titanium bracelet. The case continues to impress with a hinged lever at 3 o’clock to serve as the crown which can be used to wind and control the CYS 5206 automatic winding movement. Based on the ETA 2834 calibre, the movement is responsible for the unbeatable precision of the stainless steel hour, minutes and seconds hands and the date and day window at 6 o’clock. The movement also assures a power reserve of 42 hours and is equipped with a finished oscillating weight with engraving as seen through the exhibition case back. The Cuervo y Sobrinos Robusto Churchill Day Date is completed by sapphire crystal glass, Clou de Paris finish on the salmon guilloche dial and a 100 metre water resistant rating.

Got into the horological hobby only a few short years ago; but got, as us Scots like to say, “baw deep” pretty quickly. Thanks to buying a lemon of a Rolex he spent hours researching why his watch wasn’t working and along the way gained an interest in what makes them tick. He now runs the Scottish Watches website and keeps cohort Rick in check on the twice weekly Scottish Watches podcast.
