Welcome to the Scottish Watches Podcast – Episode 360! A new co-host is making his debut on the podcast, though he has been a long-time website contributor, and helped me cover W&W. From Singapore we bring you Philologus or @wildwristwatch if you are familiar with his amazing Instagram content. He shares his watch story and photography tips.
Wrist check: Philo is wearing his Rolex Explorerm124270. A keeper for him, so it heart less to get it from the secondary market after spending time some time in a waitlist. Philo discovered the Explorer 1 by watching Adrian’s videos on the watch and previous generation. Here are two of the many, many, many videos he’s done on the piece: NEW 2021 Rolex Explorer 36mm – Ref 124270 The Best Rolex! – Rolex Explorer Philo’s previous Rolex Submariner-114060 and Explorer I 214270. Philo’s watch journey started with a recommendation from his financial advisor to investigate Tudor watches. After researching mechanical watches and the history of Tudor he acquired the Black Bay S&G, then the Submariner and a Speedmaster FOIS. These where all sold when he started preferring smaller watches. 1999 GMT Master 2. Rikki’s Batman and Tudor Black Shield Fast Rider.
Consuming a lot of content on YouTube, Philo ended up acquiring many microbrand pieces like NTH and Nodus Sector Field. He did sell most of them as he got greater satisfaction from mainstream brands.
