Welcome to the Scottish Watches Podcast – Episode 367! It’s been a week of fun and watches with a Top Gun: Maverick viewing leading into a Zenith event. Speaking of Zenith, one of the best releases of the week was the Zenith x Kari Voutilinen x Phillips watch celebrating the Calibre 135-O, a movement that was developed specifically for observatory competitions that went on to win a very laudable 230 awards. A watch that could surely be awarded the prize of best-engineered watch at 2500 CHF is the new Horage Omnium Gen 2 with an improved design and inhouse movement but maintains its iconic facet cut crystal. Previously teased in our episode with Ben Kueffer, the Norqain Freedom 60 GMT Midnight Blue is here. That dynamic blue dial combined with the bronze case is a perfect combination. What is the best rainbow watch? This week AP entered a strong contestant to that tile with the Carolina Bucci Royal Oak featuring a multi-colored rainbow micro-structure.

Top Gun: Maverick | NEW Official Trailer (2022 Movie) – Tom CruiseWatch news: NEW Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding Carolina Bucci For the current Rainbow dial version (34mm) the multi-colored rainbow design has been created by micro-structuring the top of the brass dial while adding a golden metallic treatment on the back of the sapphire crystal that lies on top of the dial plate. It’s indeed quite an elaborate way but it worked out brilliantly well. The star of the show is the sun-brushed midnight blue dial that plays with the light nicely. The steel case back has received a PVD bronze coating to match the rest of the case to avoid the risk of allergic reactions and features a display of the Calibre NN20/2 developed by Kenissi. This is a limited edition of 300 pieces with prices varying depending on the strap. On the Vegan Rubber Perlon, it’s USD 4,150.
