Scottish Watches Podcast #226 : How To Become A Watchmaker and Design Movements With Marcella

Welcome, welcome, welcome to episode 226 of the Scottish Watches podcast. Today we get an upgrade from last week’s co-host. We are joined by Lucy (@thewatchboxdiaries) as we talk with a very special guest, Marcella, from THE+ and Horage Watches.

She has an extensive CV, including mechanical engineering, watch making and design, she also recently got into jewelry design by designing a piece for Horage in the form of the Cosmo Cage ring.

We talk about her role inside the company and the process of making a watch from initial sketches to the final product and continual upgrades to it afterwards. Macella is involved with many of the projects produced by Horage, so we chat about how her watch obsession started and how that develop into a career, leading her to be involved with the development and improvement of the K1, K2 and the in house developed tourbillon movement.
